In My Kitchen – June 2015

I can’t believe how time flies to fast. It feels that it was just yesterday when I was writing my IMK – May 2015 post. Oh, well. Time flies when you’re having fun, yeah? Last month was full of ups and downs, but you have to get up and tell yourself that everything will be okay, eventually.

June makes me excited at some point considering that Ramadan is coming in about 10 days. For those who are not aware, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar where Muslims worldwide observe fasting from dawn till sunset. During this month, I don’t usually go out that much due to the hot weather. Gladly, I have made my last trip to the mall before Ramadan comes. ๐Ÿ˜€

In my kitchen…

…was this mess while making my cut out cookies. I made it Ramadan-themed so I made these shapes.

Cut Out Cookies @ The Not So Creative Cook 2

In my kitchen…

…are these jars given by a friend of mine. It comes in box with 3 jars – 1 liter, 0.75 and 0.50.

And I have already used the other one to put Dates:

In my kitchen…

…are these, um, I forgot what are these. ๐Ÿ˜€ I got these free from cans of Nestle condensed milk. I found them adorable, so I took them home with me. ๐Ÿ™‚

…are these tea towels which I thought I would not buy. I returned to the shop thrice and just looked at these. Maybe checking if its still available?? I don’t know. But something tells me that I have to come back for the fourth time and bring these with me. So, I obeyed. ๐Ÿ˜€IMG_0329

In my kitchen…

…is this individual tea tin. And this, my friends, did not need thinking. I just took it as soon as I saw it. It’s like love at first sight. โค

In my kitchen…

…is this pizza crisper which my friend gave me. She likes thin crust pizza and she got this for me to make her a thin crust pizza. And of course, just because she knows that I would love this. ๐Ÿ˜€

…which, by the way, this is the first thing I made (please forgive the photo – its not that photogenic)

  1. Jhuls, your cookies look delicious, and so do those dates in your new jar. I LOVE your coffee themed tea towel (the other two, too!) and can see why you went back for them. I’ll have to try to find one of those pizza crisper pans — my hubby likes thin crust pizza and that looks very handy.

    1. Oh, yes! These are stencils, I have thrown the box and completely forgot what are these. ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks for telling me. And thanks for stopping by. ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

    1. Thanks a lot, Celia. These cookies are just sugar cut out cookies. I just shaped them like these because as far as I know, these are somewhat symbols of Ramadan. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I have a lot of friends who are Muslim and they also don’t do much in the hot weather! One of my friend’s with nap after work until the sun went down. I love your jars – they are so cute. And what a great tea tin! I need something like that!

    1. I hope I could take a nap after work, but I have to cook and prepare to break the fast. And one reason it will be difficult for me to sleep at night. ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks a lot for stopping by, Maggie. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a lovely week. xx

  3. Your kitchen is any woman’s envy. MashaAllah. Your excitement for Ramadan is sort of contagious. I was waiting for next weekend to wind up my pre-Ramadan shopping. I think I will rush now. The cookies have set the mood just right. Thank you for that.

    1. Ramadan is one of the things I always look forward to every year. I still haven’t made up my mind about the pre-Ramadan shopping. I promised myself I would not cook too much to avoid wastage. You know, you want to eat something else every other day. ๐Ÿ˜€ Shukran, skd. I am so excited to hear about your Ramadan shopping. Thanks a lot for stopping by. ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

    1. Thank you so much, Elaine. I thought I could do much better with the cookies, but I am glad to know that you love them like this – simple. ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

  4. Love the Ramadan themed cookies, how cute. The tea towels are great as well. I think we all have items in our kitchens that called us back too the shop! The crispy pizza sounds fantastic, I love thin crust too.

  5. I think we all feel that way about how and where time flies too! Your cookies are lovely and am sure you are looking forward to Ramadan and your thin pizza make me crave some now!
Thanks also for this month’s kitchen view!
